Hello,

I've tracked down my problems:

1) I was passing "ide3=0x6300,0x6402 ide4=0x6500,0x6602" to the kernel. The PDC202xx
driver apparently doesn't like this. I removed this append from /etc/lilo.conf and the
harddrive error messages are gone.

2) I thought I had selected not to compile quotas and automount into the kernel. I was
wrong. Recompiled with these not included and running bonnie++ tests on JFS drives
(JFS as a module and compiled in) are successful. I can still hang the system, if
bonnie++ runs out of space on the file system.

Thanks for the help and suggestions,

-Jake
