Shaggy, have you ever seen an error like this?  Is it a problem with the device/low-level scsi stuff or with JFS (I'm not sure I completely trust the device driver here) ?

Kernel is 2.6.9-rc1 running on a 16-way p690 LPAR with 112 Raid-0 arrays.
