Yes, it would do this.  Running with the -v flag (verbose) should give
you a better error message.  It should probably do this without the -v
flag.  I'll add that to my to-do list.

You need to delete the the partition, then create a new partition
filling the whole disk (rebooting afterward), and you should be okay.
