Just know, you really don't wanna do that if you can help it, and run the slimmed down metro version. I mean, you can, there isn't per sé anything wrong with it, but you won't have a menu bar, I don't know if you can download with it or not, pretty much all your add ons/extensions won't work, flash won't work to the best of my knowledge, I don't even know if java/java script will work. I know all those things can pose a vulnerability concern, but what I say to that is, use common sense! If you don't recognize a web site, don't go to it! It's really that simple. Yes, the metro app version of I E is way less cluttered, thus less difficult, but the issue is, I think you're gonna wind up finding that it's so! basic, that there really isn't anything you can much do aside just browse the basic web. I don't think it even has a menu bar, if that tells you anything.

Chris.

Thanks. I will give that a try. It seems very easy to find and to load the tablet version of Internet explorer. The real version is way more difficult.

Hi Ed,

Can you run the executable for IE 11, windows 7 or is there a
different IE 11 that runs with windows 8?

If you can, try searching for executable for IE 11 and I think it will
come right up.

After all the hype about the security problems in Internet
Explorer, I switched to Firefox. In fact, I went so far as to
take IE off my task bar.

Unfortunately, the most important Website I use just doesn't work
worth beans with Firefox.

So, on my Windows 8 machine, I went looking for the Real Internet
Explorer, not the brain damaged version that works as an App on my
Yoga IdeaPad.

I think someone may have pointed out how and where to find the
real IE. I thought a search on the computer would do it, but that
just produced the brain damaged version. I'd sure like my real
Internet Explorer back.

I understand there is a patch to fix the vulnerability anyway.

Thanks!
