Thank you both, Marianne and Lee Anne. Lee Anne, your suggestion solves the immediate problem. I now have the proofreading scheme for IE set as Word Classic.
However, as Marianne suggests, Classic should also work, but that's where I had it set and where the attributes were being read. Clearly, I've changed something in Classic and don't know how to reverse it. Any ideas? -----Original Message----- From: Jfw [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Lee Anne Atkinson via Jfw Sent: Thursday, May 15, 2014 4:07 PM To: 'The Jaws for Windows support list.' Subject: RE: Attributes I am not sure, but it sounds like you turned on your proofreading schemes... Try ins-ALT-S and that will bring up the list of proofreading schemes. The last choice is "word classic." Try that and see what happens... As for the other? I just don't know. Subject: Attributes I've inadvertently caused JAWS to say "bold," normal" and other attributes in IE. I was experimenting with speech and sounds, which I've never tried before. Before this new behavior began, I clicked "no" before closing the dialog, but some change I made took effect anyway. Any suggestions for how I can stop these verbalizations? My object was to stop JAWS saying "clickable" and "mouseover" without cutting off all elements. Any additional thoughts about that would also be appreciated. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
