The two programs are built for different target markets, which is where the difference comes in. Quickbooks is targeted for folks that have little actual accounting training. It's a bookkeeping program. Peachtree is geared more towards folks with more accounting knowledge, so it does some higher level stuff accountants use for the more advanced tasks of an accounting job. This is why CPA's tend to like Peachtree over Quickbooks. But both will get bookkeeping done in their own individual way, so they're both worth scripting. As blind folks we face an uphill battle with getting accessibility, and the feeling I see is one of "thank the gods there's an option for us now." That's not accessibility, it's accommodation, and there's no reason in a fair world why all blind folks should be forced to use only one product while the rest of the world can use any one of several. Multiple products survive because people are different and have different ways of doing things and different ways of thinking. There is great value in allowing blind folks to have the same option instead of forcing them into using the same thing. When we have the same choice that a sighted person has in software products then we achieve parity with the sighted world and are no longer marginalized.
