Nicely put. Yes, you've answered your own question. When removing an older 
version, you need to retain shared components if you intend to keep an existing 
later version on your system. 

However, if you're having problems with the later version, you may end up 
removing all existing versions and reinstalling the one, or ones, you wish to 
keep using. But it doesn't sound as though that's the problem. If it were, 
you'd remove all shared components as part of your effort to get rid of all 
traces of JAWS before starting over.

I know this question has been asked many times, so here it is one more time!
When uninstalling an older version of JAWS, is it or is it not best to 
leave the shared components, rather than doing a full uninstall?
I know that some times a full uninstall creates problems in newer versions.
So am I answering my own question?
