When I am portable, I use the Surface keyboard, but haven't used that since I upgraded, will see if that changes anything. I am using a USB keyboard plugged into the same powered hub as my braille display. I havent tried braille input to see if that makes a difference, but will try that as well. The Surface is running Windows 8, but I have loaded Classic Shell on top so it feels like Windows 7. I know Windows 8 is still the underlying system, however, because I can flip back and forth between the two.
