I uninstalled Blindtunes and reinstalled the previous scripts from last spring, and Jaws seemed more responsive or detailed than I described earlier. It seems sometimes that updates create more problems than they fix. Thanks again.

I registered the new scripts and tried opening them in Jaws 11.0, but Jaws doesn't give me enough feedback on what's happening; I just hear the tutor voice saying "to move to items" or "to activate" unless I hit insert+tab to read the current focus. Many times my Focus display will display text while Jaws remains silent; other times both Jaws and the display go blank and I'm left clueless. I find the shortcut keys useless as far as moving to the iTunes Internet radio, finding the currently playing stream, etc. I tried changing some configurations but it only made things worse. When I try opening iTunes using Jaws 9 or 12 I get a "version compatibility problem" dialog with an "unknown function call to..." error in response to any keystroke. I tried uninstalling iTunes 12.0 and going back to 11.5, but got this error:
iTunes
The file "iTunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by
a newer version of iTunes.
OK
Which versions of Jaws, iTunes and Blindtunes are most compatible or friendly at this time? I can't afford anymore Jaws upgrades or SMA's at this time; each upgrade requires activation, which in turn may take sighted help. Thanks for your help.

Doug,

I requested, and received a new key from John Martin. I don't think
there's
any additional cost. He will need your JAWS serial number. Watch for a
message directly from him.

I tried downloading the new scripts but upon opening iTunes got an error saying the software wasn't registered. I tried pasting the registration
key
from the previous script I downloaded last spring, but it was rejected.
Do
I need a new key, or should I make another purchase? Is there a cost
involved every time I download new scripts? Thanks.

That is because you are using the old scripts.

John,

I've tried the new Blind tunes with JAWS 16, Windows 7, and iTunes 12.
Very
unsatisfied with the result, and wish I could go back to my earlier
iTunes.

Just as one example...

After selecting on sources list
Nothing happens - just says menu
Then press Shift+Ctrl+O for sort
Then Prompted with:
Select a sort Preference
Only choice is: iTunes 1 of 1

Not at all what used to happen. Now it requires a significant amount of
tabbing around to find anything to work with.

Also I see that there is never an eject button for a device after sync
is
complete.
