Paul,

Assuming Word 2013 here. You didn't say how you were doing it, or which version of Word. But here's what I'd do.

1. Press Alt-T and then the letter O. This is the old Word 2013 keyboard shortcut to get to Options.

2. Arrow down to Proofing.

3. Tab across to the Custom Dictionaries button and press enter. You will be in a list of dictionaries.

4. Use the arros to put focus on the Custom.dic file.

5. Press the tab key, and the first item is Check or Uncheck a Custom Dictionary. Make sure it is checked. This will mean that anything you now do will affect the Custom.dic choice you were on before pressing tab.

6. Tab again and you will be on the Edit Word list button. Press enter.

7. You are now in the list of editable words. Arrow up or down to find the word you want to remove. I don't know if first-letter navigation works or not, but you can experiment.

8. When you hear the word you are looking for, tab once to the Delete button. Press enter.

9. Tab to the OK button and press enter.

10. You are now in the previous dialogue again. Tab to the OK button and press enter.

11. And, again, tab to the OK button and press enter.

Note, that's three consecutive OK buttons.

Hope this helps.

Jean

Subject: Looking for Help in removing a Custom dictionary Word

Good evening,

I have a mis-spelled word in the custom dic that I have tried removing once
before and am not succeeding.

If somebody can assist me in removing that one word which is a typo but it
tries to work its way into some of my docs when I do spell check.

Thank you and Happy Holidays to all,

Have a great day,

Paul Bolduc

Located in the only town named Royalston in North America and maybe even the
world.

Royalston is located in North Central Massachusetts, right along the NH
border,

10 miles east of where VT, NH and MA meet.
