Here's what I do--I often create a new folder in conjunction with moving a
message, so I hit control-shift-v to move, go to the level where I want to
insert it and hit alt-n, and I'm on the prompt to type in the name of the
folder. So, if I have a message from a translation agency called TheBigWord
and I don't have a folder for it, I go the my folder called Translation and
either do alt-n right there, or open it but don't highlight anything. This
works for Move folder, not other situations, I've noticed.

In Windows 7 you can also create a folder within any other folder with the
keystroke Control + Shift + N.

Here are the instructions I got off this list for windows 7.
If you want to create a Folder within your Documents Folder, simply hit the
Applications Key from within Documents, arrow to New, enter on New and
Folder will be the first option.

Subject: creating new folders

Hello all,

Happy Valentine's Day to all.

I have a question about creating new folders. I had no problem doing this in
Windows XP. I am now using windows 8.1 and can't seem to figure out where to
go to for creating a new folder. I would like to put a group of files in a
new folder and just can't figure out where to go for this.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Barbara H.
