With all due and respect, I support this statement if it were to be a smart phone purchase. If it were to be a computer purchase, there is usually software that requires more processing power in order to handle the software. Great example is Adobe reader, when dealing with big documents. If a individual purchases a computer that has at least and I5 processor with windows 10. installed, the laptop will be future proof for a few years.

Here's a different thought:
the industry changes quickly;
today's pc is outdated by tomorrow;
buy only what you really need;
spend only what you must;
and be ready to buy another later.

That is very good advice, I think. That is one reason I am delaying and want to make careful consideration about what I get, since I want it to last as long as possible for something like this in this changing high tech era.

Also, this may sound a little crazy, but my recommendation when buying
a computer is to come up with a realistic budget and then spend it. Do
not try and get by with spending $400 if you are willing to spend $500
and that extra hundred won't cause you problems.

Hi,
I suggest a minimum of i3 2.5ghz 64bit processor with 4gb of ram. I would
also be sure to have an applications key as not all laptops

have it.

Hi I am planning on buying a new laptop soon, and I was wondering what I
should look out for the amount of ram, or the speed of the processor?
