I dropped down to a build of 3.3 and that seems to have fixed me. 3.4.x apparently has some less than pretty memory handling issues the end result of which was my system locked up twice. 3.3 also hasn't developed some of the minor accessibility issues seen in 3.4 (I don't need to use the JAWS cursor for anything), so there's also that.
