First, to make IE11 bring up the google.com site.
When IE11 is running, open the URL with:
ctrl plus o and type google.com (ENTER)
When the web site is loaded, then:
pull down the Tool menu with alt plus t
arrow up and select the Internet Options.
The first few tabs are for setting the default web page.
Select the current button and then tab to OK.
Second, setting IE11 as the default browser in Windows 10.
The Start menu does not work for me with the latest Jaws 16. As a note,
NVDA does work in the Start menu.
You can do the same thing with the settings list.
Use Windows-key plus i to bring up the settings list.
You can arrow down through a short list of catagories.
Instead, tab to the search edit field.
Type "default" and do not press ENTER.
Tab to the list of default settings.
Arrow down and select
set default web browser.
In this page, there should be the IE11 that you can select.
The details for this latter step I cannot remember.
