As Tom said, I set my cursor to blink. I used to think it needed to be a blinking block, but underscore works too as long as it's blinking. Also shrink your font to 9 or less and if it's available, set it to a truetype font.
If you have theme choices, you could play with those as well. I've never seen an emulator that works out of the box with Jaws so you need to fool with it.
