Have you tried Jaws for Dos?

JAWS does not read very effectively in DOS. I'm trying to use a
configuration program for Remoteaccess BBS software, and I didn't meet with
much success. As I move the arrows, JFW refuses to read the name of the
currently highlighted item.
Any suggestions for this, or for improving JFW's performance in DOS in
general?
