Adobe Systems produces several software packages, among
them are a couple which have a bearing as to what you see on
the list. PDF Writer, an add on for Microsoft Word (I use
it) and probably other software, will take a document and
convert it into .pdf (portable document format) files.
The problem for those of us on this list is that the .pdf
file is a graphical image of the original document and JFW
cannot read it.
Adobe also offers a plugin for the Adobe Reader (the program
for viewing .pdf files) which gives screen readers the text
of the document so we can also read it.
That's pretty much it in a basic way.
