This problem is known to HJ because I discussed it with Glen Gordon
several months ago. At that time, they did not know the cause. So they
implemented a bandade, the Reset Frequency field in the synthesizer
settings in the config manager. This field is a number of seconds such
that jaws will automatically send the speech parameters to the synth to
correct this problem should it occur. So, at most, your synth would be
slow for about one second if you place one in this field. I found, that
the additional traffic to the synth caused sluggish response, no surprise
here, so I set mine to 60 seconds. If the problem occurs, I do the same
thin you do, hit PC Cursor.
This is clearly a coordination problem inside jaws. Those of you who
experience this, send a report to [EMAIL PROTECTED] If we send enough, maybe
we can actually get them to put it in to their official bug tracking
system so it won't get forgotten. The problem is that, I suspect,
development staff have much bigger problems on their minds.
