version 3.2 by means of special Scripps and wonderful technology that is built
to ie4.01, it is possible to reformat pages that possess complex
formatting. One such example of this is being able to decolumnize pages
into one column. Additionally, all links that are present are labeled with
the prefix, or word link all in a separate line. I am pasting you a URL
that if from the home page that consists of these elements. there are
three columns and photos. At first when you allow the page to load and
jaws to speak, you will notice that the information being presented to you
aurally is fragmented. That's cause as you already know, jaws is reading
across the columns line by line. By means of the insert plus f5 key
stroke, the information is, as stated previously, reformatted in a format that
is most comprehensible to blind readers. The URL is:
Note, when you are confronted with a page that contains
frames, press control plus tab until you hear frame X where x is the label for
the type of frame that you are in. There is usually more than one frame in
a page. Most of the first you run into contain main links that you
can access throughout the sight. If you look for those frames that are
labeled as frame main, frame content, frame body etc. these are areas that
have the actual body of text that you want to read. Some of this
information you read with jaws will require the reformatting process. (Insert +
f5). try it out and see how it works. if you wish to se how many
links are in a frame, you can try insert plus f7. Just remember, control
plus tab is to jump frame by frame, and tab is for links by links.
For more help on this, press insert plus f1 twice really fast and when the help
appears from jaws use page up and down to read. Any more help. well,
