It sounds like you have juaws set to say all. try press insert+s to change
it back to highlight and the problem should go away. It is also posible
that that setting is changed in the default.jcf file. to make the change
perminant press insert+numrow6 to go to the configuration manager and then
press shift+ctrl+d to open the default.jcf file and then press the alt key
and arrow once to the right and down arrow once to users settings and press
enter. now tab once to get to the screen echo and then down arrow till you
hear highlight text and press enter. now press ctrl-s to save the change
and alt+f4 to exit and your done.
