Yes, I like this idea and was about to suggest it myself. It has
applications where JFW will not track a caret in nasty screens which
require input or where scripting is too difficult, (eg entering comments in
Excel).
I envisage the function to be as follows:
string EditBox(default_string, title, maxChars)
the box would present an edit field, an ok button and a cancel button. If
the cancel button was pressed, the function would just return an empty string.
