taskbar strange looking

This question may have been asked before, but I have found my system with
the taskbar truncated. I.E., instead seeing 

Start Button JAWS 

it looks like this:

JA...

Has my taskbar been moved and I need sighted assistance to move it back to
the bottom of my screen or is there a way I can do it?
