Hello, thank you for responding to my message. As I stated both in the
subject of this message, and in the message itself, I am already using the
latest patch, unless there has been another update after the most recent,
3.2.31. I have had the Clip Art gallery problem with versions 3.2, 3.2.19,
and now 3.2.31.
I was running the beta PowerPoint scrips at the time I wrote you my
previous message.
I hope someone at Henter-Joyce can test the Clipart Gallery in MS Word,
WordPad and PowerPoint to see if it crashes again. I have tested it on 3
computers. I got the same results on my home and work computers, and
another friend tested it with his machine.
My home pc is a pentium 100 with 16 megabytes of ram, 9 GB hard drive,
running Office 97. My pc at work is running Office 97, it is a 233
megahertz pentium and has 64 megabytes of ram. Both are running Windows 95
version B. I run Dectalk Access32 and Eloquence at work, and an internal
Dectalk and Eloquence at home.
My friend's pc is a 233 pentium with 64 MB ram, 4 GB hd, running a
dectalk internal with windows 95 version B.
I look forward to a timely response concerning this matter, thank you
for your time and consideration.

> Good morning. This message concerns difficulties I am having using the
>Microsoft Clip art gallery, version 3.0 which is part of MS Office 97 with
>JFW 3.2.31. I wrote to you previously that I could not insert Clipart into
>MS PowerPoint version 7, that PowerPoint said, "PowerPoint has encountered
>an error it can't correct."
>
> Your response to me encouraged me to re-install JFW 3.2 from the CD to
>see if doing so would replicate the problem. The same problem occurred
when
>using JFW 3.2 while creating a new presentation and attempting to inserting
>Clipart into a new slide using the text and clipart layout.
>
> Here is what I have done to address the problem.
>
> * Ran Clip Art gallery from Word Pad and MS Word, inserting Clip Art
>into a blank document still crashes the system.
>
>* Renamed the artgalry.cag clipart database file to artgalry.old, restarted
>clipart gallery which makes a new artgalry.cag file as instructed by the MS
>Knowledge base.
>
>* Started the Artgalry.exe file from the MS Office 97 CD-rom, the clip art
>gallery gives a message that the gallery is now configured to run on my
>system. I ran the Clipart gallery from Wordpad and MS PowerPoint again,
>this time because I had previously ran it from the CD, the Clipart gallery
>ran from there. When inserting Clipart again, it crashes.
>
> * The precise moment when it crashes is relevant. When inserting
>clipart in Wordpad, one chooses insert/insert object from the menu bar.
>Arrow down to hear Microsoft Clipart gallery object, press enter or okay.
>the dialog box now reads the list of clipart categories with the number of
>items available. I press tab to hear find, help, okay. Press tab again to
>arrow through the clipart titles. This is what worked with the older
>versions of PowerPoint, each time I try to see if it works with the newer
>version to tell me the description of an individual clipart file, it
>crashes. Turning the echo to all command via insert-s allows one to hear
>the names of the clipart as you arrow through them. This worked nicely
with
>older versions of PowerPoint and other programs before I upgraded to JFW
3.2
>and Office 97.
>
> I do not know whether this same problem occurs with JFW 2.29 with
Office
>97, or if it occurs using MS Office 4.3 with JFW 2.29 or 3.2.
>
> What I do know is that either JFW or MS Clipart gallery are
conflicting.
>I do not have sighted assistance at the moment to verify whether closing
>down JFW and running the Clipart gallery causes the same error. If I can
>arrange this, I will report to you accordingly.
>I have presentations I must design for my job that must utilize Clipart.
>Consequently, if you could assist me in this matter it would be most
>appreciated.
