Hi All,
In the days of WordPerfect 5.1 you could quickly create a hanging indent
for a paragraph by pressing F4 and then Shift-tab before you started
typing. The result was that the second and any further lines in your
paragraph were indented to the next tab stop in from the left margin.
In Word you can accomplish a similar feature by pressing ctrl-t.
Alternatively you can choose Paragraph from the Format menu and then
indicate hanging from the appropriate combo box.
However, if you press ctrl-t before typing this feature is turned on with
no quick keyboard way to turn it off as near as I can tell. Subsequent
presses of ctrl-t simply increase the indent level. You must use the
Paragraph Format dialog to change hanging back to none.
The only alternative I've found is to type my text first and then go back
through and press ctrl-t on any text I want to have a hanging indent. My
questions:
1. Has anyone discovered a way to turn this feature on and back off with a
single keystroke?
2. Has anyone found a fast method of determining whether this feature is on
or off? I'd like not to have to bring up the Paragraph Format dialog.
If anyone has more accurate info on how this feature works please let me
know. The justification buttons on the Format toolbar don't change when
you are using this feature.
