defrag, scan disk, ETC

Hey guys.
Well i ran the ultimate test and it failed.  II started a standard scan
disk on this computer.  2 hours later it still had not finished.  So i
think there is definitely something wrong.  Some program other than jfw
appears to be writing to the drive, even though there is nothing open other
than jfw.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated since i want to get this
drive cleaned up.  Thanks a bunch ----Jed.
