QuickBooks v6 has mouse controls that have a class of "mauipushbutton", but
won't say anything when the cursor, (JAWS or otherwise), goes across them.
This same class is used for the buttons on other areas of QB6, and they
announce "Button" when landed on.
The other problem is that the Mouse button is between lines that the JAWS
cursor moves through. Basically, I can get to just under the mouse button,
or just above it, but not on it!
When it is on a location I can get to with the JawsCursor, I have a script
that will move across the line with the JawsCursor, checking the class
after each "NextCharacter()". If it has the correct class, then it clicks
the LeftMouse button; if the current row changes, it gives the message that
the Mouse control wasn't found. If a counter reaches 100 within the While
loop, then it breaks out of the loop.
This works ok for those times that the Mouse item is on a line, but is
useless when it is between the lines.
Any suggestions? It seems that damn nearly every window in QuickBooks 6 is
Unknown, and reclassifying them works great, until you run into the same
window type on other screens where your original reclassification isn't
appropriate--like this damned mouse button.
If I had hands, I'd done pulled my hair out with this application! Doesn't
anyone use standard window controls anymore?
Thanks,
Dennis Brown
