mitch the a w e 64 d is only available to system integrators.
so you probley are going to have to go through the manufacture for an upgrade.
that sound card is unique, because for starters it is not the cheap ensonic
card that creative labs
passes out as their own a w e 64 p c i card.
it uses the 8008 e m u chip, which is superior to the ensonic.
that chip should also be superior to the i s a a w e 64 sound card.
i do have a question, did you check play wave in the jfw configuration
manager?
the reason i ask is i wonder if that card can play real audio and software
speech at the same
time?
another unique thing about that p c i card is that it can play both dos and
windows sound with only one irq.
is your system a gateway?
you may want to look at the driver, and see if it uses the same driver as the a
w e live.
but i doubt it, also doubt that it uses the same driver as their other a w e 64
cards.
because only that card supports sound blaster link.
