Pete, thanks, it sort of worked.
When I say "sort of" I mean that it worked fine for selecting messages until the bottom of the screen was reached. I then tried to use the Scroll Down feature, hoping I might be able to go on making my selection, but it didn't work then.
This means that you're still limited to dealing with just a group (number of) messages at a time and not necessarily all. I suppose, though, that you'll tell me that this is the same whether you're using JFW or not!
Bill, I I tried your solution also a few times but I can't get it to work with Eudora 3.05 so will give it a miss for the moment. Thanks anyway.

There *is* a way you can select non-consecutive messages in Eudora, and it actually employs a standard Windows combination involving the mouse. Here's what worked for me, using Eudora 4.1, but I'm sure would work in other versions as well:
1. Activate the JAWS cursor.
2. Now, position yourself on the first message you want to hilight.
3. Press ctrl-numpad-asterisk (control-left-click).
4. Use the numpad up or down arrow to find another, non-consecutive message you want to hilight.
5. Do a ctrl-numpad-asterisk again.
6. Repeat this for as many messages as you want to hilight.
