dave well i do have a new version ready to up load, unfortunately the old
version is in the shop.
i need to combine the 2 into a single file.
so the new messages which cover
how to use all the address stuff,
like adding a address manually, plus editting the address.
plus filters for eudora light 3 plus some more on filters for 4.
plus selecting messages that are not together.
plus i redid many messages so they are much clearer.
now the reason you do not see the file, is that it is now on the other site.
nicks server got to full.
not sure what the url is.
the good news is that my p c is working, and ready for me, now i got to get to
picking it up.
i am also talking to a person who may post this on his site in pegasus format.
also i shall be makeing a outlook version of the file.
i will need to find a place to put it on the web though.
now the differance between 3 pro and 4 pro.
not much, 3 pro does not have that line sticking problem.
4 does.
many have switched over to p m mail or outlook for that reason.
personally i do not care for the fact they work like explorer, though that does
make for a quicker learning curve.
4.1 is multi tasking.
4 has all the keyboard stuff anybody could ever want.
so i can do about 15 percent more stuff with the keyboard.
super fast.
4 also has 2 ways to create filters, the new simple filters are a total breeze.
it automates about 90 percent of the work.
what is missingg that is going to be in 4.2
auto spell checking
what is missing that the competition has
a draft mail box
so save messages are put their instead of the out box or in box on earlier
versions.
property sheets for mail boxes
if eudora had property sheets for mail boxes it could put mail box specific
entries their instead of the main menu, which would result in less cluttered
menus.
the ability to filter and also put them into sorting order by subject line, all
in one step.
another feature in 4 is the preview pain, which most uncheck.
plus it can do multi providers with multi dial up connectoids.
3 can do multi personalities with a single dial up connectoid.
on the down side the directory services are harder to use in 4, though i have
to admit i never used them.
so with all that said, this tutorial is loaded with jfw tips.
so it is a little bit jfw related, though the whole point of this tutorial was
to keep all eudora questions off this list,
even though now the main reappearing question is about outlook express.
it used to be about eudora.
with that said write me privately, and i can send a older version of the file
that can get one started.
the older version does not have
all the norton 3 stuff,
or the win98, or dial up networking,
or partition magic for 98.
i do want to thank walter siren for helping me on the eudora light filter,
seeing that i did not have the light on my system, and many a user wants to
know how to make a jfw filter in the more popular free light version.
