Help with windows explorer under win98

I have just upgraded to windows 98 after a complete reformat of hard drive
and using jfw3.2.31.  However I am having real trouble using windows
explorer which I found quite easy under windows 95.  I don't have the
active desktop on but it doesn't seem to list files in the same way etc.

Are there some some settings I need to alter etc.
