Hi Scott:
If you go to the Microsoft home page there is a link that explains about
the service Release for office and why you need it. I am sorry I do not
know the link off the top of my head, but yes, I did download the SR2
release and installed it.
Why you ask? In a nutshell, there was a potential hazard with the macro
capability in MS-Word. The file to fix this is called
WD97SP.EXE
There is a catch though. In order to install this file/patch, you needed
to have the SR2 release installed first.
Warning: if you decide to download it, it takes a while. I used a 56K
modem and it was somewhere around an hour and a half or so.
You can also get both SR1 AND SR2 sent to you on a CD-Rom if you wish.
There is a FAQ about all of this on the Microsoft website as well.
