As far as I know, SFC is only available in windows 98. SFC checks
various system files and let's you know if they have been altered
changed or replaced since the last time you used SFC. Of course, when
installing updates of software, these files will be changed and rightly
so, however, when your having problems, it is another tool you can use
to check these things out. Also, I have found that some programs will
install older versions of files than the version that is currently
available, in that case, many times you can reinstall the current
version from the windows 98 cd.
