When HPR has the focus, hit insert +6 for the config manager.
Go to advanced on the set options menu.
Check the enable sleep mode check box.
Make sure the unload synthesizer check box is not checked.
Save and exit.
Now JFW will not function when HPR has the focus. But you can use alt
tab to return control to JAWS for use with other applications.

"how HPR works with screen readers."
