Thanks for the suggestions.  When using the right arrow, I get into the
same problem; when I reach the last character in the line, it
automatically unselects itself.  For the mark tool, I couldn't find such
a beast.  Could you let me know how  I could find it?
I would like, if possible,  to select  just part of the file rather than
saving or FTP the whole file.  If it wasn't for the missing last
character on each line, I've been successful in saving the desired data
into an Excel file.
