Hi, Scott. Do you have power management enabled on the system? If so,
perhaps a setting in there is causing the problem. To test it, you might
want to disable it and try again. Have you ever had problems with the
hardware on the computer because it is hooked up to the battery supply you
mentioned? If this is a surge protector or some kind of UPS device,you might
want to try disabling that and testing your pc again.
Finally, as Bill has said before, do you have Norton Crashguard enabled
in the background running programs? I know from my experiences at work that
sometimes this program freezes pc's unexpectedly depending on your setup and
what software is running. If you like, e-mail me privately if it strays too
