Hi David,

as has already been pointed out by a number of listers.  The "JAWS is
ready," message seems to be encoded into the executable file. 
Secondly, simply changing your Verbosity to Intermediate or advanced
will kill most of the verbose startup information.  I don't quite
understand just why it is that you seem to want to totally kill the
whole of the startup information altogether.  Even with a little sight,
as I believe you have, wouldn't you be better to play safe and at least
be able to hear the "JAWS is ready," message?  What would happen if
something actually did go wrong?  I seem to remember that you have
sight enough to see the TaskBar, though not sight enough to actually
see what is displayed on it.  Do you actually want JFW to be your
screen reader, or do you in fact actually need a screen reader at all?
