I have been off this list for the last 2 months, so I am not sure if anybody already
have asked or reported about this problem. I have bought a HP cd 8100 plus internal
ide cd rw drive. With this drive comes the easy cd creator suite of programs. I can
use Direct cd to copy data files to cds, but I cannot perform any disc copies of data
or music, no matter what method I use. I have tried the cd copier that is part of the
software, and also tried to burn wave files from my hard drive and to create an image
file of a cd and then burning this image. I get none of the standard error messages
from the software, but my music cds contain nothing but silence. The tracks are there
and they seem to have the correct lengte but the contents is not their. The cds can be
played both on the cd plus drive and in standard cds, but the problem is the lack of
contents. Before installing JFW a sighted person tried to copy a music cd and this
could be done without problems, the cd contained the !
music it should.
I know of other JFW users who have more success both with other HP drives and cd r
drives from other manufacturers, so the failing of this new drive is very strange.
