I am happy to announce that several of our moanings have been listened to
by two popular bible program authors and two bible programs are being
released with specific settings and adjustments for screen reader access
and specifically configs and/or scripts for JFW right there on the cd.
Online Bible version 8.00, has a beta version of 8.00.01.07 available from
www.onlinebible.org and is written by Larry Pearce. I have been an Online
Bible user since version 2.1 in the DOS days and wrote to Larry way back
then. Online bible 8 is looking very very accessible and is a breeze to use
in most places.
Theophilos 2.6 by Ivan Jurick has also just been released and even comes
with a jfw folder on the cd containing the JFW scripts. This program is
extremely powerful too and is also a breeze to use in most places.
I highly highly recommend both products for accessibility, especially with
both coming with JFW configs as part of the package.
I am still providing feedback for the Online Bible 8.x release but it
should be available in Feb 99.
Both products also have a cut down freeware version, cut down in that only
the public domain versions of modules are supplied but the programs'
functionality is not limited!
I strongly suggest that bible readers and JFW users get hold of these
packages and write to their author's to congratulate them on their efforts.
(I also believe that Online Bible will also come with Window Eyes settings
for those who use two screen readers).
