I've got the cursor shape working just fine, and it's a nice thing to have.
I didn't realize what I was missing until I checked that check box in the
Cursor settings. I don't know if you can do this on a local application
basis or not, but I hit INSERT-6, CTRL-SHIFT-D, ALT-S followed by C and then
checked the box. Since then, things have worked great.
