Hope this hasn't changed radically in JFW3.3. The following is based on 3.2.
To change the reading of ANSI characters permanently, go to the Config Manager
(INSERT + main keyboard 6). CTRL+SHIFT+D for the default file.
Hit ALT+S & choose "Graphics & Symbols". Tab over to ANSI Verbosity. You have
five radio buttons to choose from. Experiment them till it does what you want.
Probably you want None (that is, no ANSI numbers announced).
