In regards to your problem below. Noramlly when you get a messagetelling you that
another device is using your sound card. What is happening is that the software synth
has taken control over the sound card and is not allowing any other programs to use
the sound card. If you are using a hardware based synth, then this problem does not
occur. If you are using a sound card that allows multiple streams of wave files, then
this should not happen and if this is the case, then it looks like you could have a
software conflict.

Hi Listers,
I'm helping a client who lost all the wav and JFW sounds on his system.
He is using Win 95 with Eloquence and an AWE 32 sound Blaster.
Things wer working well for the past three months. I have checked all
the volume settings and they are at 100. When I tried running a wav file
a sighted friend told me that the message came up saying that another wav
device was already in use. My client knows of no other wav devices
loaded on the system. Any ideas how to chekc out the wav devices and
which one is causing the conflict? I can get this error on my machine
when I try running a wav file without putting JFW in mute. However, JFW
reads the message and then goes on working like it should.
