I've previously written to the list with regard to this subject, and
I'll not change my basic opinion at present. The newest version of
eloquence is significantly better than its unbearable ancestor, though the
reading rhythm is quite irregular.
And I've also noticed another rather curious glitch. Of late, several
members of the list have been writing about Service Maintenance Agreements.
Eloquence is the only synth I've been using with this system. Whenever the
abbreviation for Service Maintenance Agreement is read, where S, M, and A
have no spaces between them, I hear S M Eye, not S M A, as it should
obviously be pronounced. There is, however, one exception. When the word
is read with the Insert+Num5 key combination, the abbreviation is pronounced
normally as S M A. Try reading this example with Eloquence: SMA and S M A.
Go figure.
At least I don't start screaming psychotic threats at my MIS
administrator, but I also don't attempt to teach a product like Naturally
Speaking or DragonDictate how to recognize the synthesizer's voice, either!
Well, you know what I mean :-).
Regards
