P2 and K6

I'm looking at purchasing a new pc, / laptop, and I'm looking at the difference in 
price between  a k6 300 machine and P2 300 machine being approx $ more for the p2. 

I need to know if there are any problems with jfw 3.x running on amd K6 processor 
machines?
