Well, I have to agree. The HJ upgrade method is quite distressing. Most of the
other software manufacturers I deal with don't much care what version you
upgrade from and if they do, they at least allow upgrading from a wide range of
versions.
With Quicken from Intuit, they pretty much up grade any version to the latest
but at this point, if you up grade a DOS package to a Win9x package you do pay
a bit more than if you are upgrading a Windows product. Jeeze, even Microsoft
gives you room with upgrades.
But, I think the reality is that HJ wants to make a certain amount of money and
if it does not come from the upgrades it will come from a higher purchase
price. I think it stinks, they get you coming and going no matter what.
