HI
To reply to Darrell's 3 points of improvements for jfw 3.3, I don't think
those are very sugnifigant improvements, or justify calling this a major
upgrade. I own both jfw and window-eyes and window-eyes has had two of
these features, since version 2.1 and ie5 suport since january. I call jfw
3.3 a needed bug fix, especially with eloquence not working with sapi 4.0.
Window-eyes 3.1 is coming out any day and they are not charging for there
upgrade, which is normal for them. I think jfw should have just given this
bug fix out as a 3.204 or something like that, since it is not really a big
upgrade, but a much needed fix for their dragging their feet on MSAA and
4.0 sapi.
I just feel jfw's SMA is a way for them to gather more money in, some times
it is justified and other times it is jfw just being greedy!
Jfw will probibly call another major upgrade to ms office 2000 that is
coming out this summer. and another major upgrade when win 2000 comes out
later.
Window-eyes is all ready putting in upgrades for office 2000 in version 3.1
and again not charging!
I have great concerns with jfw and their high price and charging for
minor fix as major upgrades. I will have to look hard in justifing
paying out more money for a new SMA, when venders like gw micro and dolphin
are being so fare and considerate to the blind pc user.
Darrell, you have to come up with much better reasons for jfw to call 3.3
a major upgrade and not just a bug fix!!
