This subject may be off-topic, but since others have expressed their
opinion, I'd like to express mine too. I think the idea of having lots of
little sublists is horrible. I understand that people don't like getting
lots of messages, but that's where your E-mail program's sort and filtering
features come in handy. In the good old days of the BBS, people could post
all kinds of questions in a few broad-topic forums and get help from lots
of different angles. Now, God help you if you dare post something that
falls into that gray area that most problems fall into, especially if you
are a new user who doesn't know whether the cause of the problem is coming
from the application, the operating system, the screen reader or whatever.
Is it going to get to the point where you will have to look at fifty or
more lists whenever you have a question so as not to offend anyone?
Sometimes, in fact very often, solutions to a problem only come from
listening to people expressing their suggestions from lots of different
angles. If you get onto a list that is too specialized and has too narrow
a focus, you will only get help from that perspective. Programs don't work
in a vacuum anymore. Especially when it comes to Windows, problems can be
very complex, and solutions can only come from people with different
perspectives looking at the problem from different viewpoints. Thanks for
listening.
