in addition to what you discribed, I just use the windowkey+r to go to
the run command and type the drive letter I want. such as c: or a:.
this seems to be the best way for myself. others I have tought to do this
are less confused than using the tree view. it is also nice because if
you want to go back out of the directory you just entered, just press the
backspace key.
