Hi JFWiz's,

I've run across a problem with JFW which shouldn't be occurring for such
a simple task.
Let me give you my system specs first... Windows '95 on a P133 running
JFW version 3.2.19.
I'm running a mud client called GMUD. In order to have JFW read the
screen displaying the output from the server, I've placed screen echo to
"all". Now my problem. When I type commands on the input line, the
output screen reading is interrupted. That's expected ...
So, I've used Frame manager to place a silent frame around the input
line. I've also gone into the Configuration Manager and turned off
keyboard echo, keyboard interrupt, and set screen echo to "all". I've
saved this configuration, and made sure that it is specific to the GMUD
application (not the default config.). The silent frame works fine just
as soon as it is defined. But, if I log off a mud, and log back in later
... the keyboard input is being echoed once again!?!
Also, once I leave the application, and return to the desktop, I
expect the default configuration settings to resume -- and the GMUD
settings to be cancelled. Well, when I get back to the desktop, all of
the settings from the GMUD Config. file come with it. I have to
manually reset screen echo to "highlighted", keyboard echo to "words"
...etc.

I'm perplexed. This is simple stuff. Things which Eric discussed on the
training tapes. And yet, things don't work the way JFW is "supposedly"
designed to work. I'm starting to tackle learning how to use the Script
Manager. I wonder if it is worth my time?

Any input appreciated....

P.S. St. Nick, I hope I'm not straying from the purpose of this list. My
apologies if I am.

Thanks much,

Dave
