We don't all have access to a news server.
I, for example, have no news server at work.
Of course, I could join a news group over the net, but that would
complicate things even more.

Subject: A traffic solution?
I don't want to drag out this traffic issue, particularly since the list
owner has already spoken on the subject. However, sorting and filtering
only goes so far. My question is about a possible solution.
Has anyone ever talked about creating a jfw newsgroup? Something like
comp.software.fw or some such. That would allow discussions on various
topics to be threaded as opposed to being individual emails.
I agree with those suggesting that too many lists will make it hard to find
information. I used to run a BBS myself and there's no substitute for that
kind of dynamic. But, 60-80 emails per day on this list can get a little
bulky.
Just my 2 cents. Thanks to those who've written in answer to my questions,
I've found some very useful information.
