Hi Olga,
In order to use JFW with MSSpeech without uninstalling JFW you'll ned to do
the following.
I have coppied some lines from my jfw.ini file here. They are located in
the [SYNTHESIZERS] section of that file. Copy these lines to the end of
this section. or at the beginning, depending on how you would like the menu
items to appear. In my lines, you will notice that each line begins with
Synth1----. This the first synthesizer on my system. But, on yours, you
will already have another synthesizer with the same beginning. If you want
to make MSSpeech the first engine on the menu items in the languages/change
synthesizer, you'll need to shift the numbers on all the other choices in
your jfw.ini file. So, if your first line says "Synth1Name\eloc", you'll
have to shift that to "Synth2=eloc". And all the subsequent lines will also
have to be changed. the last synthesizer option in your languages/change
synthesizer menu is no speech. there is a section in the jfw.ini file in
the [SYNTHESIZER] that allows JFW to be silent when chosen. Depending on
how you would like the speech engine's choice placed, you might also have to
shift that.
the lines that you'll need to change in the jfw.ini file are as follows.
Synth1Name=MSSpeech
Synth1LongName=Microsoft Text-to-Speech Engine
Synth1Port=
Synth1Driver=MSSpeech
I hope I've made it clear. If I haven't, and if you have any questions,
please let me know. I'll be glad to help you out.
